Currently, the United States imports 70% of our oil from overseas, at a cost of $700 billion a year. That means that our energy supply is dangerously susceptible to the whims of unstable foreign leaders and their governments, as well as global terrorist networks.

The security of this country depends on developing a strong and sound domestic energy policy, so that we don’t have to send our young men and women into danger in an effort to meet many of this country’s energy needs.

By developing domestic energy supplies, our country is safer, more jobs are created, and our school districts, and local governments are strengthened financially.
